Aline 1 Birth

[07:48:38] * Blanc would find herself now, some interminable time after… s… something. She remembered a great danger, or at least a feeling of stress and trauma in the past, that she had been spirited away from to be brought here. But now, she was filling out tests. Advanced physics, n-dimensional matrix calculations in mathematics, things more esoteric still than that! But she nonetheless blew through them with only a few pauses to derive first principles every now and then. Some of it seemed familiar anyway…
[08:07:00] <@Minaplo> [These tests were spread out over a number of days. And furthermore, the way the tests were done seemed strange. Each day had five hours allotted to tests, and if she finished a test early she was given a new, different test. And if she finished that one early, she was given yet another, until the five hours were completed.-
[08:12:44] <@Minaplo> [After four days of this, a new set of tests began. Not written tests this time; she was placed inside a large room by herself. The room was full of random objects…-
[08:13:04] <@Minaplo> [And she was given a list of parameters to fulfill- using her AT Field.]
[08:26:24] * Blanc had slightly raised her brow at the first mention of 'her AT Field', but… soon what was a curious turn of phrase only briefly borne out through some references to them in the test materials (dear god the test materials), became a grand artispiece. Objects were heated and cooled with basic thermodynamics, destroyed and moved and teleported through careful breaches and jaunts into unusual configurations (including one instance of solving a joined rings puzzle that had no actual 'trick' to unjoining them sans a jaunt)… and while at first, she had hesitated at a very strange request to fill an aquarium with exremely pure water… the solution struck her. She retreated to a Dirac Sea, marked not by the red dendritic bolts of 00's Shadow, but by a shimmering blue… almost mandala-like pattern that rotated and whirled… before a breach from the sea opened, pouring out the requested material like a faucet… before she re-appeared. All the same, while that was one of the harder tests, more came after. But by then, through Dirac-concealed Anti-AT manipulation and generally /broad/ power knowledge, Aline was able to eventually finish the entire list!
[08:45:55] <@Minaplo> [Her faceless testers nodded, ticked another thing off their list, and led her on to the next test.-
[08:47:35] <@Minaplo> [Or rather, not. In this case it was a surgical procedure. Unconscious for it, though- a small red diamond-shaped material implanted into her chest, connected to her core.-
[08:51:04] <@Minaplo> [Then…-
[08:51:45] <@Minaplo> [Aline would return to her lab dormitory. She was still naked- they had never given her any clothes at all. But now there were no instructions, although she couldn't seem to leave anywhere either. Presumably she'd just have to wait, but until then, what would she do?]
[09:02:25] * Blanc found nudity more than a bit… awkward, even if she was generally alone now, even if she had done various things. …But often, she could be found sitting down, playing with objects in various ways both manual and AT, often trying unusual or unorthodox patterns… though sometimes, patterns emerged. Things like velocity transfers to launch objects in progressive sequence, before catching them… playing with barrier balances and catches, other such things. Generally, halfway between just highly elaborate telekinetic play, and… what almost looked like unconscious self-referential bullshit.
[09:24:48] <@Minaplo> [Eventually, something happened. The door opened- and Mary Caine entered.-
[09:25:18] <@Minaplo> [Tall, back straight, radiating a wave of presence before her. It was as though a giant had entered the room. The air seemed to stiffen a little at her presence.-
[09:25:29] <@Minaplo> [She placed a large chest down in front of her, facing Aline.]
[09:28:48] * Blanc had once cowered in abject terror in front of this woman, in another life she did not really remember. But Caine's aura instead inspired silent awe, the kind of feeling reserved for witnessing an unfathomable being in the distance - knowing it does not deign to step on you, but that it /could/. She bowed her head, and didn't quite feel right speaking, looking in vague askance at the chest instead. …while a litte object kinetically retreated to a nearby surface to end her 'play'.
[09:42:21] <@Minaplo> [Caine stared at Aline for a few long, quiet, dread-filled seconds, before she spoke. "Accept your nature."]
[09:50:15] * Blanc had an unplaceable look. Not a smile, but a sign of acknowledgement. …then from the gem atop her core, it flooded, overbearing with white more pure than her pale skin. Rippled like robes, before solidifying higher up from the waist and beyond to armor with gold filigree and a number of rubine gems, and a great robed skirt below. From it, threads of green erupted on the shoulders, until they fanned out into glorious flanged pauldrons, from which a grand cape flowed. Last was the helm, that shot up with the conical bent common to Solomon Primes, but with pits and veins, ornate engravings in it. Orange slits covered her eyes, while from the top of it, a vast green tassel extended, gloriously like a feather in her cap. There was a solemn, but now expressionless, bow of her head on the completion of this process.
[10:00:51] <@Minaplo> [Caine watched. Throughout the process her expression was impassive, but now she gave Aline a single curt nod of approval.-
[10:00:55] <@Minaplo> [She gestured towards the chest.]
[10:08:24] * Blanc gave back a nod of understanding, and she crouched to open the chest - feeling using TK abilities to be too gauche - and eyed it carefully. She picked up various items to examine them - a grand blade, a series of firearms of otherwise-unusual design, and so on. But of course, the /last/ item was the most significant, so she cradled it - for it was hard to carry in other ways - and examined it. A flail or whip-like device, made of alabaster segments carved with the same loving care as the patterns on her helm, tipped at the head with a similar red gem to those on her armor (a number of shades lighter and more translucent than a core), and given a handle at the other end protected by a flanged handguard of the same green hue as her pauldrons. There was a stare up, that showed a sense of appreciation, somehow, in how she canted her head.
[10:28:02] <@Minaplo> [Caine stared back- then nodded again. "You will now leave this room forever. You will be taken to meet with the Solomon Primes, who are to be your companions from now on. Do you understand? Say yes or no."]
[10:30:43] * Blanc spent a moment pondering the nature of 'Solomon Primes', before agreeing with… "Yes."
[10:34:45] <@Minaplo> [Mary nodded, then turned and left.-
[10:34:56] <@Minaplo> [The door remained open.]
[10:36:20] * Blanc knew a signal when she saw one, and marched out. Dressed in regalia when before she was in nothing. Leaving a lab, for… She didn't know.
[10:50:10] <@Minaplo> [Outside was a waiting room, sort of like a doctor's. There were semi-comfortable chairs and sofas, and the ground was carpet instead of tile.-
[10:50:32] <@Minaplo> [Someone was sitting there, waiting for her. Black hair, female, slim. "Hi." She said warmly. "Do you remember me?"]
[10:55:05] * Blanc totally inappropriately for the fucking armored regalia, nodded. "Yes, ah… Agatha, you're probably a nicer sight for sure after confusion." She considered seating positions, and seemed actually pretty awkward about said regalia, not in /walking/, but in social matters. Like wondering if she could manage seating near the girl without poking her with a pauldron or something.
[11:05:37] <@Minaplo> ["Yeah, I figured you'd have lots of questions." Said Agatha, getting to her feet. She gave Aline a quick little grin. "Why don't I lead you to your room first?"]
[11:08:06] * Blanc tried a smile, but… helmet. In fact! "…I can… selectively… uh, de-apparate pieces, right? …but I should probably stay covered for uh… dramatic reasons?" She frowned. "I'm going to need a bit more studying to get passing grades in the presentation quintile of the Solomon exams." She sort of half-joked at her own awkwardness. "But uh, sure, you can take me there, I'd appreciate it!"
[03:18:48] <@Minaplo> [Ten minutes of walking later, during which they entered a new separate section of the Synfront- Aline could tell because the area was empty, conspicuously empty, with a heavily reinforced blast door over the single entrance- Aline would find herself standing outside of a large electronic locked sliding door, unmarked.]
[03:21:31] * Blanc stared up at it with suspicious eyes obscured by the grandiose helm, thinking. "…I take it this is either my room, or my… 'area'?" Aline questioned of Agatha. The emptiness was a bit eerie
[03:22:01] <@Minaplo> ["Yeah. I can't open the door, it's keyed to you."]
[03:23:15] * Blanc looked for controls and, if found, would operate them!… If not she'd have to think about it a bit more. Possibly apply AT Scanning.
[03:32:41] <@Minaplo> [The controls in fact were AT operated. The doors slid open, revealing a truly huge room.-
[03:33:39] <@Minaplo> [Although there were rooms off to the side (presumably for bathing and sleeping), it was obvious that this room was supposed to be the 'house' part of her quarters. Although it was empty now and the walls and floor were undecorated, there were electrical ports and space aplenty for just about any reasonable thing she could think of having.]
[03:34:58] * Blanc clasped her hands at the sight, impressed. "And here I was expecting something on the scale of a lavish apartment…" With obvious surprise. "The Synfront sure has its /space/."
[03:37:14] <@Minaplo> ["It's one of the marks in its favour, yeah." Said Agatha. "It'll be up to you to decorate it. You can order the furnishings remotely if you want."]
[03:38:13] * Blanc nodded her head a few times. "Of course. There'll have to be a fair amount of planning done, but it seems ready enough to do." A sure tone.
[03:40:04] <@Minaplo> ["Yeah, it doesn't take too much effort to set up. Just make sure you make looots of room…"]
[03:42:37] * Blanc turned to Agatha suddenly with a questioning expression… again hidden by the helm. Oops. A beat passes, before… "For what?"
[03:44:59] <@Minaplo> ["Oh, you don't know, huh…?"]
[03:47:02] * Blanc began to get used to the whole 'oh right she can't see my face' thing, and… shrugged her shoulders. "I've been told scant little, I'm afraid."
[03:51:23] <@Minaplo> ["Know what a Phantom is?"]
[03:52:01] * Blanc nodded. "Give or take, yes. Not in any great detail though…"
[03:57:23] <@Minaplo> ["Well, s'not important. What's important is that you get a whole bunch of 'em to handle like an entourage."]
[03:58:44] * Blanc paused, dawning realization starting to form. You could /almost/ see it through that implacable helm. "…huh. Like a little family home or yes, entourage. No wonder the place is so big…"
[03:59:04] <@Minaplo> ["Uh-huh. Pieces to a puzzle."]
[04:01:17] * Blanc folded her arms. "Wonder what other pieces I'll dig up through this tour that I didn't quite know about…" Aline wondered aloud.
[04:09:22] <@Minaplo> ["Well, I did say you could ask questions. We're here, there's no time like the present!"]
[04:14:10] <Blanc> "Right! …So, what exactly is my, like, role here? I'm aware of what Primes do, but… that's Solomon-human bodies with Angelic souls." Beat. "…Probably something to do with the half of Lilith I bear."
[04:18:52] <@Minaplo> ["Well, uh… I never said I had all the answers." Said Agatha sheepishly.]
[04:20:08] * Blanc chuckled lightly. "I guess that's fair! That's going right to the heart of the matter on my part, so…" She thought. "Well, what else will you be showing me, how about that?"
[04:23:56] <@Minaplo> ["Rest of the Solomon habitat mostly." Said Agatha.]
[04:27:51] <Blanc> "Okay then! That seems good~" For whatever reason, Aline sounded a bit thoughtless, like she was missing something.
[04:29:35] <@Minaplo> ["Any other questions?"]
[04:31:04] * Blanc thought, unfolding and refolding arms a few times, before… "I think not. I'll just stay on guard socially to see how the other Solomons act."
[04:32:16] <@Minaplo> ["Not even gonna ask about how your armour works now?"]
[04:35:43] * Blanc …paused. "…I'm working on it! Maybe there's other quintiles I'm doing poorly at…" An unseen pout. "Something something focusing on the gem on the core. Or do you mean more than that?"
[04:39:08] * Blanc …paused. "…I'm, uh… working on it! Maybe there's other quintiles I'm doing poorly at…" An unseen pout. "Something something focusing on the gem on the core. Or do you mean more than that?"
[04:40:06] <Mianplo> ["Well, you can take your helmet off for starters."]
[04:41:19] * Blanc …took a very long silence. …and then. Took the helmet off. "…At first I thought it was… you know, some kind of… show thing that I shouldn't… then I forgot to. And uh…" Her face was /brilliant red/ though. "I'm embarrassing myself a lot."
[04:41:53] <Mianplo> [Agatha laughed. "It takes work to be the elegant it-girl that you see before you, don't worry."-
[04:43:42] <Mianplo> ["Anyway, here's the run-down. The silk you produce from your body can be removed or thrown away just like normal clothing. You can just produce more. The way it works is that part of the 'schematic' programs the silk in such a way that it takes on a harder, more shell-like form-" she rapped her hands against Aline's rigid chestplate- "Or so that it mimics electronics or the
[04:43:43] <Mianplo> like. As in your helmet."]
[04:45:33] * Blanc nodded. "Pretty impressive technologically speaking, especially the electronics mimesis." She said with a light smile, appreciating the cheer. "I imagine the stuff is a bit 'hotter' than older standard-grade UN hardware, hee."
[05:02:57] <Mianplo> ["Almost certainly. Even better, it becomes totally useless when removed from your body!"]
[05:03:26] <Blanc> "Security, handy!" She said with an approving noise.
[05:19:00] <@Minaplo> ["Yeah. Oh, uh, general orders is that you're to destroy any of your equipment if it's at risk of capture."]
[05:20:10] * Blanc was firm about that. "…Yeah. Can't let them have that kind of advantage." She thought briefly, before doing a small headcrane of confirmation. However that works.
[05:23:39] <@Minaplo> ["Right."-
[05:23:51] <@Minaplo> ["Anyway, you wanna go? Unless you'd rather rest here."]
[05:24:24] <Blanc> "Oh, no, I can get going! I still have a fair shake of energy left."
[05:29:44] <@Minaplo> ["Alright then. Would you like to see your family?"]
[05:31:51] * Blanc blinked more than a few times, before going… strangely bright. "Y-yes, I'd love to!"
[05:41:26] <@Minaplo> ["Sweet. Come this way."-
[05:41:43] <@Minaplo> ["Oh, helmet back on once we're out of the Solomon compound."-
[05:47:30] <@Minaplo> [They were back into the Synfront proper now. The walls and floor here had colour coded stripes, each stripe representing a different section. Follow the stripe and you'd end up wherever you needed to go.-
[05:47:44] <@Minaplo> [Agatha didn't seem to pay too much attention to these, though. Instead she walked her own path.-
[05:48:55] <@Minaplo> [The corridors were quite busy, all told, though. Technicians hurried past them, followed by AC-Suitlike Labor Suits carrying heavy duty equipment or crates. Stormtroopers occasionally walked past too.-
[05:49:29] <@Minaplo> [All of them kept a wide berth around Aline, many of them hurrying past to be out of her line of vision more quickly. Many of the Stormtroopers gave her nervous, razor-quick salutes.-
[05:50:24] <@Minaplo> [Eventually, they'd some to another distinct section of the Synfront, separated from the main hub by a blue-painted threshold. A sign in a blocky, easily readable font said 'RESIDENTIAL'.-
[05:52:09] <@Minaplo> [Agatha walked quickly. Within a few minutes of entering Residential, they'd arrived at their destination- a door marked 'T16'.-
[05:52:18] <@Minaplo> ["I'll leave the honours to you."]
[05:57:28] * Blanc nodded her head - which was at the moment, helmeted as was told, and confirmed that. "Alright, I figured." …She hit any doorbell there was, and… "Hey… It's me, Aline."
[06:12:49] <@Minaplo> [There was a delay before the door unlocked and slid open. When it did though… It became clear that this residential space was more like an apartment than, say, a hotel room. The door opened up onto a comfortable-looking living space adjoined to a dining room and kitchen (no walls between them), outfitted with modern chrome appliances- a big fridge/freezer, a washing machine, food
[06:12:51] <@Minaplo> processor…-
[06:13:37] <@Minaplo> [The furniture was more appropriate for the living space of a comfortably wealthy Orleanais Bourgeoisie than the residential quarters of the world's most fortified military location.-
[06:14:21] <@Minaplo> [There were two people she could see currently. Sitting at the kitchen table, looking up from what appeared to be a technical manual, was her father, his white hair combed backwards.-
[06:20:18] <@Minaplo> [And lying on the couch, staring at the door- at Aline- was her mother, her attention diverted from some television programme.-
[06:20:32] <@Minaplo> [They were silent. Not hostile, but alarmed, cautious.-
[06:20:55] <@Minaplo> [Agatha cheerily shoved Aline inside, following her in and letting the door close. "Probably okay to take off the helmet~"]
[06:22:35] * Blanc let out a surprised "Eeeack!" At the shove, and quickly snagged the helmet in one hand to do… SHAZAM, the reveal! Her shorter haircut, lack of glasses, both might seem a bit odd (unless things were tinkered with), but she smiled and announced with a clear voice! "Hi! Sorry for the scary helmet, I'm not supposed to be seen out of it in the main area."
[06:47:25] <@Minaplo> [They stared at her for a second longer silently.-
[06:47:41] <@Minaplo> [Then her mother gave her a thin quavery smile, sitting up slowly. "It really is you…"]
[06:48:38] * Blanc nodded her head. "Yeah… I'm sorry." She didn't quite even know which things to be sorry /for/, but that was the sentiment all the same.
