For A Fun Night Out

[13:27] <Yanmei> Tucking a riding helmet under one arm, a young lady in a ruffled white dress wandered down the hallway of a certain apartment building, frowning at a slip of paper in her hand. She didn't know what she was doing here. Surely, she could have just showed up without the guy and claimed to have forgotten about him or have been rejected. Why -hadn't- she been rejected, come to think of it?-
[13:28] <Yanmei> She stopped before a door, checked the number, and reached out with fingerless gloves to press the doorbell.
[13:29] <Alexandre> "One moment."-
[13:30] <Alexandre> The door opened a few moments later, revealing Alexandre- dressed very smartly in a long-sleeved white shirt, a black vest, and a pair of black dress pants- with black dress shoes, of course. His hair was combed immaculately, and his glasses shone. "About time, Zhang."
[13:32] <Yanmei> "And a fine evening to you too," she said, annoyed. "You might want to bring a jacket? It's a windy ride."
[13:33] <Alexandre> Almost as if on cue, Alexandre reached behind the door, revealing a long black coat that fell to around his knees. He quickly pulled it on, straightening the collar. "You didn't come on your moped, did you?"
[13:34] <Yanmei> "Well, of course I did." She was less impeccable than usual, her bobbed hair slightly ruffled, the top part of her dress hidden behind a shorter black coat, riding gloves on both hands. "Marianne couldn't give me lift today, so I had to make due without her."
[13:37] <Alexandre> "It's good to see we'll be able to reinforce the collective egos of the partygoers by arriving in such a ridiculous style." Sighed Alexandre. He looked about the apartment. "Would you like to come inside, or should we leave immediately?"
[13:39] * Yanmei took a sly glance inside when he did. It was -big- in there. Did he live alone, or with his mother? "I think I'm fine for now. If you'd like something steady your nerves before going, I'd be happy to wait, though."
[13:39] <Alexandre> "My nerves are fine. I merely asked out of etiquette."
[13:41] <Yanmei> "Well, if you say so. There's nothing ridiculous about my moped, though, thank you."
[13:44] <Alexandre> "It's unhealthy to reject reality so fiercely." Murmured Alex, disappearing for a moment before returning with a large bag. "Alright. Lead on."
[13:47] * Yanmei eyed the bag curiously, and then shrugged, waiting for him to lock the apartment door before leading on. "You should wrap your housewarming gifts a little more nicely, Fontaine." She sighed in exaggerated exasperation. "Don't you know anything about making good impressions?"
[13:49] <Alexandre> "It has a special wrapping."
[13:49] <Yanmei> "Oh?" That earned another curious glance, but she looked away quickly again.
[13:52] <Alexandre> "Yes. It's wrapped in the fact that Ariadne has no idea how special this old bottle of wine is until I tell her." A smirk.
[13:54] <Yanmei> "W-what? You got her wine too?"
[13:54] <Alexandre> "… You didn't."
[13:59] <Yanmei> "An aged Merlot," she affirmed with a frown. "And scotch."
[13:59] <Alexandre> "Interesting." Said Alexandre archly.
[14:00] <Yanmei> "I guess we'll see whose she likes better?" She smiled prettily at him, and resumed taking the lead.
[14:06] <Yanmei> [It was indeed a windy night, made worse by a quick jaunt on the highway for a few miles. A quick adventure, if not a dangerous one, with angry horns from other drivers briefly blaring at them. But they merged off soon enough, and pulled up next to a tidy apartment building.]
[14:09] <Alexandre> "…" Alexandre hops off, taking off the spare helmet and putting it gingerly back on the moped. His hair is somewhat messier, but oddly the effect doesn't seem too bad. "That was an unpleasant experience. I now know what it's like to be as ridiculous as you, and yea, I feel sympathy if this is how you feel -all the time-."
[14:11] <Yanmei> "I did suggest that you take something to steady your nerves earlier." Yanmei removed her own silver and violet helmet. "Maybe if you had listened, you wouldn't be in such a bad mood, hm?"
[14:12] <Alexandre> "There is no alcohol that yet exists that can dull the pain you inflict."
[14:14] <Yanmei> "One person's pain is a stronger person's pleasure." For her part, she seemed largely unruffled by the hijinks. "I had no idea you were so sensitive, Fontaine. Oh well~"
[14:15] <Alexandre> "If Asuka could see this machine she'd never let you hear the end of it."
[14:16] <Yanmei> "She already has. She totally approves, too. Said it was one of the cutest things she'd ever seen." Blatant lie. But surely -he- wouldn't know that…
[14:18] <Alexandre> "… Bullshit."
[14:20] <Yanmei> "And anyway, I don't see -your- impressive vehicle anywhere around here."
[14:20] <Alexandre> "I could say the same for you."
[14:22] * Yanmei glared at him, before huffing and stalking off, two tall gift bags in hand.
[14:23] * Alexandre smirked, and followed her!
[14:27] <Yanmei> Since she had the room number to Marianne's apartment, it was only fair that she take the lead anyway, peeking curiously around as she did so. It was just like any other geofront apartment building. Comfortable but simple. Finally, she found the right number and knocked politely.
[14:28] <Alexandre> [There was the sound of festive music from inside, as the door opened, revealing…-
[14:29] <Alexandre> ["It's about time the two of you got here." Grumbled Dorian, peering at them. "I can't imagine what you've been up to…"]
[14:30] <Yanmei> "Hello Major." She beamed. So he had come after all! This was great. "For someone who's at a party, you don't look very cheerful."
[14:31] <Alexandre> ["Hunh." Dorian rolled backwards, allowing the two entrance.-
[14:32] <Alexandre> [There were all sorts of familiar faces here. The Bunnies! Dorian, of course. Leon Thomas was there, too, currently deep in conversation with Sophie. Dr. Castillo-Delgado was present as well, on the balcony, taking in the view. And of course there was the host herself, Ariadne, a glass of wine in her hand, giggling endlessly, her face very red.]
[14:34] <Yanmei> "Um…" Oh boy. Smiling politely, Yanmei started to approach the drunken Ariadne, leaving Alex behind to follow or wander off as he pleased. "Hello Ariadne! We made it. Thank you for inviting us."
[14:34] * Alexandre was going to follow.-
[14:35] <Alexandre> [Ariadne looked up at Yanmei, blinking- then beamed an amazingly wide smile. Yanmei would find herself smooshed into a tiiiight hug. "Meimei made it~!"]
[14:39] <Yanmei> "Y-yeah!" This was amazingly awkward, but she was still smiling. "It seems like everyone's having a good time? I hope we didn't miss anything too exciting."
[14:41] <Alexandre> ["Naaaah. Now that you're here the party can get started in earnest~ <3" Said Ariadne singsongedly- as she caught sight of Alex. "Alex~" He, too, was the target of a hug.-
[14:41] <Alexandre> "-!"-
[14:41] <Alexandre> [Marianne looked over at Yanmei, catching her eye with a smirk.]
[14:43] * Yanmei gave Marianne a sheepish little wave. "Well." She set the bag with the wine on a coffee table. "I guess I'll have a quick look around. See you, Alexandre!" And she ditched him too, heading off toward Marianne.
[14:48] * Alexandre gave her a dirty look.-
[14:48] <Alexandre> ["Hey, sweetie. Glad you could make it." Said Marianne, a glass of wine in her hand- but Marianne seemed a good deal less drunk.]
[14:50] <Yanmei> "It wasn't easy. We had to take the highway for a few miles, you know? Ah…" She glanced around, looking back at Dorian and Ariadne in paricular. "Has she been like this since the beginning?"
[14:51] <Alexandre> ["Almost…"]
[14:51] * Yanmei sighed, almost to herself. "What a mess…"
[14:52] <Alexandre> ["I think Dorian's pretty disappointed. I gave him a lift over, and… Well."]
[14:55] * Yanmei nodded. For a moment, she didn't look very happy either. "This wasn't exactly what I'd imagined either. Maybe I should go apologise?"
[14:57] <Alexandre> ["Apologise?"]
[14:57] <Yanmei> "Er… not that I had anything to do with him promising to be here?"
[14:58] <Alexandre> [Marianne gives Yanmei a critical look. It's the 'that doesn't work on me' look.]
[15:01] <Yanmei> "I thought they would end up talking. Besides, she wanted him to come!" She shook her second gift bag. "I even brought scotch. To facilitate conversation on his part."
[15:02] <Alexandre> ["Hah. He does like scotch. But I think trying to 'facilitate conversation' is why she's like this…" Marianne shook her head. "At least the food's good. We got a catering set of Roman Pizzas."]
[15:07] <Yanmei> "Oh yeah? I'll give it a little try." She handed off the scotch to Marianne for safe keeping, and edged calmly toward the food, smiles abundant for the others in the room. At least there were a few people who looked as if they were having fun…
[15:08] <Alexandre> [At this point, a certain individual- Leon Thomas- was busy piling meat lovers onto his plate.]
[15:14] <Yanmei> "Vice Commander Thomas…" There was something amiss with this image that made her give pause. It was, she decided after a moment, the distinct lack of uniform or immediate gruff frown. "So Ariadne asked you to come too, hm? I'm glad." She beamed. "Are you having fun?"
[15:15] <Alexandre> ["Huh. Call me Leon, Yanmei." He says, cracking a gruff smile. "And oh, it's alright. Pizza's good. You just arrive?"]
[15:18] <Yanmei> "Yes." she decided to leave out the part that involved Alexandre Fontaine. "Just a few minutes ago. It took a little longer than I thought to get here. You?"
[15:18] <Alexandre> ["Heh. I've been here for awhile. Actually, Ariadne drove me here herself. Before she got shitfaced."]
[15:20] <Yanmei> "She gave you a lift?" Yanmei started to collect a few things on her own plate. One or two little pizzas. Any healthier looking things like fruits or carrot sticks or such. "I didn't realize you two were friends."
[15:21] <Alexandre> [Healthier things? That's adorable.-
[15:21] <Alexandre> ["Eh, she seems nice enough, and she gets kind of a rough deal. She's not like most UN nonsense-sayers."]
[15:23] <Yanmei> "Yeah. She was talking to me a little about it the other day, and it seems like she has a rough job. Although… she never actually got around to telling me what it is she does, aside from having meetings with the Commander and her UN bosses. I take it she's not the first attache to make her way here?"
[15:26] <Alexandre> ["Nah. I mean…" He waves his hand idly. "I'm military, remember? Used to serve with peacekeeping forces. I know my way around UN attaches. They're often pains in the arse, try to throw their weight around or otherwise do nothing."]
[15:32] <Yanmei> "I see." The man was being disturbingly… informal. Yanmei was having a hard time figuring out if she should go with the flow or keep herself from relaxing. "I would have thought that UN representatives would be more helpful. Of course, I only know Miss Delacour, so…" she shrugged -
[15:32] <Yanmei> "How has your own work been going recently?"
[15:33] <Alexandre> ["It's -crap-." Muttered Leon. "We're being raked over the coals."]
[15:35] <Yanmei> "Ah. That's no surprise?" She nearly cringed at that. Wasn't she somewhat responsible for some of it? "The N2 strike…"
[15:37] <Alexandre> ["Yeah. Ugh." Leon shook his head and fetched a chair. "The President was really unhappy."]
[15:39] <Yanmei> "Was he, now?" she hesistated. "Do you think he'll withdraw some the support he's been giving us? It seems like NERV and the president were on friendly terms before?"
[15:42] <Alexandre> ["Hum." Leon frowned, rubbing his chin. "I don't think he'll withdraw -all- the support. But if we keep screwing up like this, then he won't be very happy. The Evangelions were lucky in regards to the N2 Strike. But…" Leon shook his head. "The President is arguing that NERV pay compensation to the relatives of the 300 or so people killed by the N2 blast."]
[15:47] <Yanmei> "… it's not like we don't have the resources to? But, on principal, it shouldn't have happened." Yanmei glances aside, a little sheepishly. "What's more, the EVAs themselves have been getting bashed up a lot too. And they're using expensive weapons? A technician once told me that it cost the same to replace one my older rifle as it does to replace all four of 04's limbs."
[15:56] <Alexandre> ["Mmm." Leon nodded. "That's the price of the EVA. They're powerful weapons, but they're incredibly resource hungry. We really don't have the infrastructure to handle them efficiently yet." He shook his head. "But it's not a matter of resources. NERV and the UN don't pay compensation on civilian deaths on principle."]
[15:58] <Yanmei> "Why not? Even when it's our fault?"
[16:02] <Alexandre> ["Because it's not something we can strictly control." Said Leon, his brow furrowed. "Take Berlin-2 for example. Imagine if NERV had to pay 50,000 francs per person out of a hundred thousand casualties? That's 5 billion dollars straight up. Money that NERV would be spending actually rebuilding Berlin."]
[16:08] <Yanmei> "Fair point," she relented. "So I guess it can't be helped, even if it does stir up resentment against us." For a few minutes, she picked at her distinctly unhealthy food in silence. "By the way? Who decides who should be a pilot and who shouldn't? The Major said that it was the Marduk Insitute that did it, but…" She shrugged a little helplessly. "I suppose that's all I know about it?"
[16:09] <Alexandre> ["Hhn." Leon scratched his chin. "Marduk is part of it. The Instrumentality Committee have a say too, as do all of the NERV Directors."]
[16:13] <Yanmei> "Well. It's easy to figure out who the Directors and Instrumentality Committee are? But the Marduk Institute is… shadier. They compile the Marduk Report, don't they? But how can they figure out who's a good match for piloting without running tests? And why would they do so to begin with?"
[16:14] <Alexandre> ["Well, they work with NERV. The Marduk Insitute keeps all the blood tests and screenings that they take from potential pilots. You, ah, probably don't remember it. It's very subtle." He waved his hand. "They try to match the readings they get with an Eva, but it's shaky, so often they just give NERV a list of pilots and go 'Try 'em one at a time'."]
[16:17] <Yanmei> "Readings…" Yanmei nearly sagged. "It sounds like a very process that's very much based on tests after all. No room for personal biases or opinions, then?"
[16:19] <Alexandre> ["A little. That's where the Committee and the Directors came in."]
[16:22] <Yanmei> "I see." So she was on the right track after all. But what a difficult track it was. "This is interesting! I've been learning quite a lot about these sort of things lately."
[16:24] <Alexandre> ["Oh?"]
[16:27] <Yanmei> "I'm giving more thought as to why I and the other pilots are here." She smiled pleasantly at him. "Maybe it's something I just took for granted before?"
[16:30] <Alexandre> ["Oh." Leon scratched his chin. "You don't know why you're a pilot?"]
[16:33] <Yanmei> "I wouldn't put it like that exactly?" He was hitting a bit too close to home on an unexpected matter without realizing it. She had to stay calm. "It's because I was compatable with the fickle 04, right? But that aside, I wasn't sure who made the call, or why. It's that simple."
[16:36] <Alexandre> ["Heh. It's sort of a vote, I guess. I dunno. I'm not told as much as I like."]
[16:37] <Yanmei> "Vote?" that surprised her. "Like… an election?"
[16:39] <Alexandre> ["Kinda. Very informal. The parties- the Directors and the Committee- usually discuss it until they reach a major consensus."]
[16:44] <Yanmei> "Heh. It sounds simplier than I imagined. How interesting!" She nodded to the Vice Commander. "Thanks for the information!"
[16:48] <Alexandre> ["Not a problem." Said Leon gruffly. He leaned back in the chair. "How've you been, anyway?"]
[16:52] <Yanmei> "Same as always?" Then, realizing how bare it sounded on its own, "We recently went to the unveiling of the French Heavy Industries Unity Initiative's latest brainchild. The pilots and Dorian and all. I didn't get a lot of it, but it was fun to watch while it lasted."
[16:53] <Alexandre> ["Huh, yeah. I heard." He leaned back, resting his head on the arm. "I've been taking care of the takeover."]
[16:55] <Yanmei> "Takeover…?"
[16:57] <Alexandre> ["Eh? Oh. Right." Leon waved his hand. "The Thruster Solace- the robot you guys so cheerfully dismembered- was basically -the- big ace of all the companies in the Unity Initiative. It's taken a lot of their resources over the last few years… And seeing it destroyed so easily, after it went berserk, led to a lot of investors selling their stocks."]
[16:59] <Yanmei> "And NERV has been buying them instead?" How harsh. A little part of her felt sorry for those guys still with the Unity Initiative. "To to taken over by a competitor…"
[16:59] <Yanmei> ^To be
[16:59] <Alexandre> ["Such is the way of the world. NERV is grabbing a lot more resources. Something weird happened though."]
[17:00] <Yanmei> "Oh?"
[17:02] <Alexandre> ["We figured no one else would want the shares, so we'd clean up house, but it looks like some other company- or group of companies- were waiting for the exact same thing we were."]
[17:04] <Yanmei> "Really?" Amusment hit her, and it was impossible to keep it completely off her face. "What's that?"
[17:04] <Alexandre> ["For the Solace to go bottom-up."]
[17:06] <Yanmei> "Does this mystery company have a name yet?"
[17:07] <Alexandre> ["Dyse Heavy Industries. They seem new. It's odd. I don't like it."]
[17:09] <Yanmei> "Hm." She wondered if Atticus Nelson knew anything about it. "Ah. Well, hopefully you can beat them out somehow? Work hard!"
[17:10] <Alexandre> ["Heh. Thanks." He snickered a little… And his eyes strayed over Yanmei's shoulder.]
[17:11] * Yanmei glanced over it too, following the gaze.
[17:13] <Alexandre> [Ariadne was speaking to Dorian. And by 'speaking', she was grabbing his shoulders and glaring at him- a glare that was fully returned.]
[17:15] <Yanmei> "…" Well, at least they were finally talking. "I wish they'd just kiss or something."
[17:16] <Alexandre> ["Hah." Leon snickered. "I wouldn't say that too loudly."-
[17:16] <Alexandre> [… Then, the tension suddenly broke. Ariadne slapped Dorian, hard- and then again, before storming out of the room- slamming the apartment door shut behind her.
[17:16] <Alexandre> [The room was… Completely silent, except for the music.]
[17:20] <Yanmei> "Erm…" Yanmei glanced at Dorian, and then at the shut door, and then back again, completely torn.
[17:21] <Alexandre> [Dorian sat there sullenly, his cheek a dull red, before he looked up at the people around him. "Well?! What are you all staring at?!"]
[17:25] * Yanmei actually fidgeted a bit. She wished suddenly that she had that scotch handy.
[17:27] <Alexandre> [Dorian glowered at anyone who looked his way as he rolled out onto the balcony. No one looked at him.]
[17:35] * Yanmei on the other hand, looked around for and sought out Marianne, parting from the Vice Commander with a nod.
[17:36] <Alexandre> [Marianne seemed stunned! She was… She -had- been near the balcony but had somehow, through drift, ended up near Frederic.]
[17:38] * Yanmei hesitated before talking. Mainly because she did not have a plan. "Shouldn't… someone go after her? She was drinking pretty hard?"
[17:42] <Alexandre> ["… Y-Yeah, you're right. Should we…?"]
[17:44] <Yanmei> "I'll go. But the Major…" She glanced toward the balcony, and rubbed the back of her neck in a rare display of awkwardness. "I can't decide if we should let him cool off for a while or try to calm him down."
[17:46] <Alexandre> ["I'll… Try to handle it." Said Marianne, looking rather scared of the idea.]
[17:47] * Yanmei scrutinized her a moment, and then sighed, holding out a hand. "Scotch, please. I'll do one, then the other."
[17:48] <Alexandre> ["Huh? What, you're going to do both?"]
[17:49] <Yanmei> "Can't be helped." She smiled far more placidly than she felt. "I feel somewhat responsible?"
[17:49] <Alexandre> [Marianne shook her head. "That's silly. Look. I can handle Dorian."]
[17:50] <Yanmei> "Well, if you're sure…" She nodded. "I'll try to be back quickly."
[17:52] <Alexandre> [Marianne nodded. "Good luck."]
[17:55] <Yanmei> "You too." her smile turned somewhat wry, and then she was on her way out of the apartment. Ariadne surely couldn't have gone far.
[18:17] <Alexandre> [In fact, Yanmei could see her- barely- in an elevator at the end of the hall.]
[18:19] * Yanmei makes a dash for it before the doors can close!
[18:20] <Alexandre> [No problem there. Ariadne has, in her drunken anger, entered the elevator and seems to have spent a good deal of time mashing the 'open doors' button. She stares at the buttons forlornly, before looking up at Yanmei with bleary, defeated eyes. "The doors won't close." She mumbled… Before breaking down into sobs.]
[18:21] <Yanmei> "…" Yanmei reached out put a consoling arm around her. "Ariadne. Where are you heading, anyway? You're leavng your own party behind?"
[18:23] <Alexandre> ["D-Dunno." Mumbled Ariadne. "J-just wanted t'go."]
[18:25] <Yanmei> "Do you want to talk about it? About what just happened?"
[18:26] <Alexandre> ["Y-You'd listen?"]
[18:27] <Yanmei> "Of course! Let's move someplace comfortable, though?" She tried to ease her back into the hallway proper.
[18:31] <Alexandre> [Ariadne was, in all honesty, pretty easy to guide back into the hallway- where she did admittedly basically thud against a wall and slide down so she was sitting. "S-Stupid idiot." She grumbled.]
[18:32] * Yanmei sat down next to her, drawing her legs up a bit. "What was it? Did he say something?"
[18:44] <Alexandre> ["I-I tried to talk to him today." Mumbled Ariadne. "R-Really tried. Asked if he was ok and everything."]
[18:46] <Yanmei> "It didn't work, huh?"
[18:47] <Alexandre> [Ariadne snuffled. "I-It nearly did."]
[18:48] <Yanmei> "It did?" She seemed a little hopeful
[18:51] <Alexandre> ["Y-Yeah. B-But I d-dunno." Ariadne shook his head. "J-Just when he was a-about to t-talk about it a-and open up, h-he just… C-Clamped. J-Just wouldn't. G-Got angry. S-Said I was being an idiot."]
[18:56] <Yanmei> "Maybe… Maybe it was a matter of privacy?" She glanced back toward the apartment where everyone was gathered. "Maybe something else? I'm sure he didn't mean it."
[18:59] <Alexandre> ["I-It w-was just us. It…" Ariadne tucked her knees up to her chin. "I-I'm s-sick of it, Yanmei. It hurts. I-I j-just want him t-to… To open up." Her entire body seemed to droop for a moment. "I-I t-thought h-he might still love me a little…"]
[19:05] <Yanmei> Taken aback, but not yet defeated, Yanmei reached out and patted her shoulder comfortingly. "Just because someone doesn't open up doesn't mean that they don't care for you. It's usually more complicated than that. There are things they're afraid of or don't want to admit. Things that trouble them when they need to look like they have it together? For their sakes and others." -
[19:07] <Yanmei> "It's not something that can be forced, either." Her own shoulders sagged a little. "They have to open up on their own. When they feel comfortable."
[19:08] <Alexandre> ["W-When will he…?"]
[19:13] <Yanmei> "I'm not sure," she admitted with a quiet little shrug. "Maybe it's less important that he open up, and more important that he knows there's someone to listen when he does."
[19:15] <Alexandre> [… "… D-Did…" Ariadne stares up at Yanmei with an utterly desperate face- one that wanted comfort. "D-Did I screw up?"]
[19:18] <Yanmei> "I don't think so? I don't know the words that led to it, but you should at least apologise for hitting him." She made a slight face. "I think he was pretty embarassed about that…"
[19:21] <Alexandre> ["… H-He n-never did like b-being told in public." Admitted Ariadne with a little smile.]
[19:24] <Yanmei> "Heh heh. Do you want to wait out here a little longer before going back and doing that? It's a lot quieter. Nice place to think, wouldn't you say?"
[19:27] <Alexandre> ["Y-Yeah." Ariadne rubbed her face. "I-I'm drunk, huh?"]
[19:28] <Yanmei> "A little," she grinned. "A little too much wine? Alexandre and I both brought more of it, too. That jerk."
[19:30] <Alexandre> ["H-Heh. Jerk." She started to giggle. "Jerk! It's funny."]
[19:33] <Yanmei> "I-it is?" That was the second time she was taken aback. "It's more true than funny," she said matter-of-factly.
[19:34] <Alexandre> ["Hehehehe. Jerk~ Jerk~" She started to mimic Yanmei. "Jerk, Alex, you jerrrrrrk."]
[19:37] <Yanmei> "Wha- I don't sound like that!" She huffed, and folded her arms. "I'm way more mature about it!"
[19:40] <Alexandre> [Ariadne started waving haphazardly with her arms. "Alex, you jerrk~ hehehe. It's so funny. Two of you are like kids fighting. And you know what they say 'bout kids fightin'~"]
[19:41] <Yanmei> "What they say? I'm not sure I want to know." She made silent plans to leave Alexandre stranded there instead of giving him a lift back to his apartment.
[19:42] <Alexandre> ["They liiiiike each other~" She was so tanked.]
[19:43] <Yanmei> "No they don't! And we're not kids, so…!" Yanmei shook her head. "What helps to sober people up quickly? Coffee, right? Or water? Let's get some!"
[19:44] <Alexandre> ["A-aww, but…"]
[19:47] * Yanmei stood and offered her a hand up. "Let's go back." The sooner she sobered up, the sooner she would stop saying those -horrible- things.
[19:48] <Alexandre> [Ariadne unsteadily allowed herself to be raised. "Y-Yanmei?"]
[19:49] <Yanmei> "Hm?"
[19:49] <Alexandre> ["You're the best. T-Thank you for trying so hard."]
[19:53] * Yanmei smiled at her. "Well… I didn't really do anything." She moved an arm around her, trying to provide a steady support. "Let's go."
[19:54] <Alexandre> ["K-Kay. Hmm…"]
