Special Circumstances

Limited Data: Circumstances mean that the map is shrouded in fog of war. Units may only see a number of KM equal to their Perception Bonus, but have shared vision.
Neutral Ground: Slovenia, Bosnia, Croatia etc. are all part of the Federation of Yugoslavia, a member of the League of Non-Aligned States. If an attack hits Yugoslavia, or If a unit lands on or spends more than a turn on Yugoslavic territory, there will be diplomatic repercussions (Yanmei will, for starters, gain the talent Enemy: Yugoslavs).
Powerful Enemy: There is a chance of this battle having a particularly powerful foe appear, such as a Dysangelion, Divine Evangelion or an enemy Battleship.
Superior Leadership: The Enemy Supreme Commander for this battle is Narendra Gadhavi.
Supply Line (UN): If Bari or Naples are taken, all UN Hordes from the UN Mediterranean Army Group and the 1st Task Fleet take a -15 penalty to any attack made with ranged weapons. If both points are taken, this penalty increases to -40.
Supply Line (UEF): If Turin is taken, all UEF Hordes take a -30 penalty to any attack made with ranged weapons.
Supply Line (Armée d'Italie): If Florence is taken, all UEF Hordes from the Armée d'Italie take a -30 penalty to any attack made with ranged weapons.

Advice

Advisor Advice
Marianne2.png?dl=0 "Italy's terrain is rough and treacherous. Much of it is mountainous due to the Apennines and the Alps, and flat land is usually a narrow strip between the mountains and the sea. Rivers make things especially difficult in the northern Italian Po Valley. However, we can use the terrain to our advantage. If the Armée d'Italie digs in, it can slow the UN forces in southern Italy right down. That lets us focus on destroying the Heeresgruppe Italien first."
Alphonse3.png?dl=0 "I'm expecting the enemy to have artillery and AC Suits in the south, and artillery and tanks in the north. Chances are the UN have deployed elite specialist forces to southern Italy, such as Stormtrooper Vanguards, so they can take advantage of the rough terrain. I expect air power to be weighted towards bombardment. A large problem is the UN fleet. Modern naval forces are like floating fortresses, capable of wiping out armies with long ranged missiles or orbital-range weaponry. The UN fleet doesn't have much space to maneuver, but will no doubt have very heavy range."
Minerva%20Linden.png?dl=0 "The Armée d'Italie is well-suited for a defensive battle, and its Legionnaires are in their element. Slow the enemy down with artillery barrages to buy us even more time. As for forces to deploy- our air power will be limited without the RAF Air Command, and putting Wellesley in charge of them will make sure we rule the skies. Harken with the Super-Lourd will enable us to turn Northern Italy into an unbreakable fortress. I'd like to suggest sending the Invincible Battlegroup into the Mediterranean to fight the UN fleet, but I know it'll be needed elsewhere; we may simply have to rely on the Dorian for anti-naval combat."
Liu%20Lin.png?dl=0 "Gadhavi again. Wherever Gadhavi goes, Dysangelions are sure to follow. Worse, Gadhavi is a tactically flexible leader with a real knack for killing our most expensive units. Expect the enemy to use a lot of tactics."
Misato3.png?dl=0 "Deploying tough Evangelions on this map will let us seal southern Italy quickly. For that reason, I also recommend taking along at least Eagle Squadron."
