Careers

Careers

Careers define your character's abilities: how their Characteristics progress, which talents they can buy and what role they will fill. There are six roles, as shown below:

Career Description
Operations Director An elite military commander capable of changing the course of a battle with their abilities.
Dervish An exceptionally lethal close range combatant who excels at defeating the foe with speed and skill.
Sniper A devastating master of ranged weaponry.
Pointman A resilient fighter focused on defense, close combat and eroding the enemy's ability to fight.
Support A skilled jack-of-all-trades who fills battlefield slots the others can't quite handle.
AT Tactician A master of the esoteric AT Field, able to perform miraculous feats beyond that of others. Evangelion exclusive.
Berserker A pilot in tune with their Evangelion, capable of unleashing catastrophic rages across the battlefield. Evangelion exclusive.
Career Additions
Elite Talents Not a true class, but rather a generic collection of 'elite' talents that all classes may access.
Superheavy Pilot Talents A collection of talents and abilities available to Superheavy Pilots.

Secondary Careers

Characters may also designate a Secondary Career, in order to help round out their abilities. This works out as below.

A Character may choose any Secondary Career they prefer. Operations Director requires special permission, and AT Tactician/Berserker require Evangelions.
A Character has their Characteristic Advancement costs cheapened by a certain amount, depending on the class. If the character has already spent XP in a discounted characteristic, they are refunded the difference.
A Character may purchase talents in their Secondary Career from the Basic Level.
They may not purchase any Skills, Upgrade Points or Sound Constitutions from their Secondary Career.

At certain points, characters may also designate an Elite Career, which allows them to specialise for certain tasks. This works out as below.

Each Elite Career grants a gain to a Characteristic, as well as giving unique bonuses.
They also have a collection of talents each.

Advancements

All Careers possess Advancements, which determine how much it costs to improve their characteristics. All advancements can be improved up to four times, with each improvement being more expensive than the last. Furthermore, a Career sorts all characteristics into one of four categories; Supreme, Superior, Adept and Mediocre, which determines how much each improvement costs; Supreme is cheapest, and Mediocre is most expensive.

Category Simple Intermediate Trained Expert TOTAL
Supreme 100 200 300 400 1,000
Superior 100 250 500 750 1,600
