"Ah, you seek my expert opinion? Well I'm touched… I'm deeply flattered, but you simply must know that I'm not an expert. Merely an enthusiast. A highly gifted enthusiast, perhaps…"

One of the most intelligent and high-achieving students in the entire school, Niles Windsor-Yamato is immediately recognised by essentially every student in the school thanks to his academic achievement and personality. The son of a prominent lawyer, Niles has more or less charted out his entire professional pathway.

The head of Saint Louis's Debate Team, Niles has more or less given the team its reputation for ridiculous tenacity and hard work. He combines well-researched arguments with a skill at oratory; his voice has a lovely, almost seductive edge to it that can make certain impressionable people blush. This, combined with his stellar grades, have made him a mild celebrity in the school, although his success has come at the cost of practically his entire social life.

Niles's debating cred isn't the only thing that lends him notoriety; his rivalry with Alexandre Fontaine is well known. In fact, Niles deliberately took Fencing just to attempt to show Alexandre up; Alexandre took up chess club to return the favour. Thus far, each and every bout between the two, whether it's a game of chess or a duel attracts a large crowd.
