Reborn S Discussion

[07:45] <AdEvaGM> [[Session 62: NEON GENESIS EVANGELION. Date: 14th of September, 2017. Episode Title: Reborn's Discussion.]]
[08:01] * Sept was finally out of his room - having been closed up in it not out of necessity, but out of something else - and wandering the corridors, looking for company. Looking to pass the time with science, or news, or… anything, at this point.
[08:06] * Aline was out, finally. She had spent quite some time recovering and under observation, but now, in a long coat she hadn't worn much before - it was a little big on her before - she was wandering the halls too.
[08:26] * Sept stopped at a corner, looking at her, adjusting his glasses. Nope, she was real enough. "Hello," he said.
[08:31] * Aline mutely adjusted her own glasses, staring over at Sera. "…Hello." Her voice had a bit more resonance than before, but was still mostly recognizable.
[08:34] <Sept> "Better, now?"
[08:36] * Aline slowly nodded. "Yeah. I get the feeling a lot of people were upset or surprised. It wasn't as showy as your… time."
[08:42] <Sept> "You fought a different, more important battle than we did. You did what you had to."
[08:44] <Aline> "Right, so I did. Still, don't forget that you were still there, up to its conclusion. I did my part but so did you."
[08:54] <Sept> "Good. How do you feel, otherwise? You don't… -remember- anything, do you?"
[09:06] * Aline shook her head and frowned. "No, not particularly. All I remember is a vague sense of fear, right now. I'm sure more will come back to me later."
[09:11] <Sept> "It might. What about Voriel?"
[09:13] * Aline shrugged her shoulders. "Still there, or at least I think he is."
[09:23] * Sept made the tiniest of shrugs himself. "So you're fit for piloting again?"
[09:26] * Aline put a hand on her hip. "Absolutely. If nothing else, we need to end this."
[09:29] <Sept> "Right. So everything can go back to normal."
[09:31] * Aline raised a finger sharply. "No. So everything will be /better/. Normal is impossible now. We can't put Evangelion back in the proverbial box."
[09:34] * Raphael has quit IRC (Connection reset by peer)
[09:34] * Raphael has joined #nervfrance
[09:38] * Raphael has quit IRC (Ping timeout)
[09:39] <Sept> "'Impossible'," Sera said with a smile, pausing. "We have our responsibilities, yes. I think we still need more help to make it happen."
[09:41] * Raphael has joined #nervfrance
[09:46] * Aline shook her head a bit. "Well, if my knowledge of humanity is anything to go by, impossible. But… still. I've entertained the idea of getting better and more help, but there's not much room to communicate. You've already mentioned that, though."
[09:52] <Sept> "I've been… thinking about Elisha. About his plans."
[09:53] * Aline quirked her head. "Oh?"
[09:58] <Sept> "He never planned to be away forever. Even if there was a way of… for lack of a better word, reviving him, without using up any notable resources like the EVAs themselves, I couldn't make that call. I used to fight just for that, for him."
[09:59] * Aline was nodding her head a few times, but near the end, stopped. "But… the person you should be fighting for is you. The world must be saved, but surely you have your own idea on what that means?"
[10:05] <Sept> "Of… course. But you know how far he got, with his research, with everything. How much would we give to get all that back, even with the risks he'd bring?"
[10:07] <Aline> "Mm. I…" An open pause. "I can imagine that there'd be a lot to learn, but at the same time, we already know a lot. It might not be worth the cost when we've come ever-closer to learning it ourselves."
[10:15] <Sept> "Mmh. That's a pretty big risk. Maybe we can be more certain about it some day."
[10:17] <Aline> "But 'some day' is swiftly becoming nowhere to be seen. This is the final run of Angels. We're running out of time, and I wouldn't be surprised if not the slightest bit after the last one falls, things start going sideways."
[10:21] <Sept> "Mmh. Until then, we just sort our straws in ascending order of desperation."
[10:34] * Aline sighed a bit, wringing her hands together. "Looks like…"
[10:40] * Sept blinked, something occurring to him. He took a step toward Aline. "Um. What I meant to say was…" He walked up and wrapped his arms around her. "Welcome back, Aline. It's good to see you."
[10:42] * Aline seemed rather… shocked at that, and at first her arms were limp, nearly numb. But slowly, the realization set in, and she hugged back, squeezing. "…Thank you."
