Bretonnia
All Henchmen below are marked as being either Bretonnian Peasants or Nobles in their profiles.
As a note: peasants are not permitted to leave their lord's domain or even their village without permission. Thus, unless one of the Heroes of your Warband -is- a Bretonnian noble, it is assumed that any Bretonnian peasants here are runaways, deserters, brigands or something similar.
Common Henchmen
Peasant
Most of Bretonnia's people are peasants. During wartime, it is not unknown for whole towns of untrained peasantry to be levied for war. Some desert; others volunteer for the priceless bounty of a single copper coin. Peasants are truly terrible soldiers, but, being Bretonnians and peasants to boot, have no real understanding of how much a fair fighting wage is.Peasants count as Bretonnian Peasants. Obviously.

Man at Arms
The Men at Arms are 'professional' Bretonnian soldiers, drawn from a liege lord's vassal villages. They are taken into their lord's residence, given a large sum of money and a regular wage. However, they are expected to buy their own equipment and pay for their own upkeep, and so they make extremely little money. They are poor comparisons to solid Empire State Troops, but they're relatively decent lowborn soldiers by Bretonnian standards.Men at Arms count as Bretonnian Peasants.

Peasant Bowman
Bows are dishonourable weapons, every Bretonnian noble knows that, and thus no Knight wields them. Peasants, having no honour, are permitted to wield bows. Skill with a bow- typically the longbow- is a tradition of sorts amongst lowborn Bretonnia, as it can put food on the table and supplement the family income if a bow-wielding son (or well-disguised daughter) is levied by the lord.Peasant Bowmen count as Bretonnian Peasants.

Household Guard
A Household Guard is a Man-at-arms who has been entrusted to guard a lord's own household- specifically meaning the lord's family, although sometimes literally his house. They are a cut above the rest in terms of Bretonnian foot soldiers, as they have been given a rare currency for a peasant: a lord's trust.Household Guards count as Bretonnian Peasants.

Battle Pilgrim
Battle Pilgrims are Bretonnian peasants who have been struck with wonder and awe at the sight of a Grail Knight. They follow such a Knight, serving as an informal soldier retinue, fighting that Knight's foes, protecting the Knight (whether he needs it or not) and collecting 'relics' and trophies from the Grail Knight: a used handkerchief, a torn cloth, so on. It is not known for Grail Knights who have been killed in combat to be swarmed by Battle Pilgrims and stripped clean for 'relics', nor is it unknown for this to happen to those knights who are merely wounded- usually killing them in the process. Either way, the Pilgrims are fiercely dedicated warriors.Battle Pilgrims count as Bretonnian Peasants.

Partisan
Partisans are an irregular sort of fighter. Bretonnian nobility consider 'irregular' warfare distasteful, but the more tactically astute lord will secretly hire mercenaries or brigands to act in such a way, often under some pretense (in southern Bretonnia, it's known for bands of mercenaries to be hired to 'shepherd' a sheep suspiciously close to enemy lines)- these are known as Partisans. It also refers to out-and-out bandits, brigands and revolutionaries dedicated to the downfall of Bretonnia's ruling class. They are solid warriors, flexible and skilled.Partisans count as Bretonnian Peasants.

Yeoman
A Yeoman is an 'elite' peasant soldier who has proven himself worthy of riding a horse. A bad horse, but a horse. In the Bretonnian system of war, Yeomen act as vanguards, scouting in front of the main force- an exceptionally dangerous task and yet one without honour, according to the nobles.Yeomen count as Bretonnian Peasants.

Elite Henchmen
Bladepoint Assassin
The lords of the Southern Realms have never been strangers to murder and assassination, but when the Sultan of Araby invaded centuries ago, he brought with him elite agents who practiced it as an artform. The Southern Realms know a good idea when they see it, and the Order of the Blade was founded in secret. The Order of the Blade carries itself as though it were a knightly order based in Miragliano and Magritta, but instead of horses and plate they deal in knives and poisons. Greataxe Marauders
The Norscan Marauders do not usually shy away from shields, for shields are extremely useful in a dangerous land. Those Marauders who wield greataxes must be exceptionally brave, or stupid. Probably the latter.Availability | Uncommon |

Norscan Champion
Every tribe and clan and people in Norsca have a handful of 'champions'. Champions are the best warriors in their tribes, having earned that title through many bloody victories and equally lucrative raids. In the northern tribes, however, the Champions are something more sinister- the precursor to a Chaos Warrior.Availability | Rare |

Horsemaster
The people of the Old World live in fear of the Norscans, the barbarians on the frontier, but there is a frontier beyond Norsca. The Kurgan peoples live beyond the World's Edge Mountains, where they raid the Old World and Norsca. Some Norscans- possibly due to parentage, although probably simply through knowing a good idea when they see it- emulate the fighting style of the Kurgans, conducting war from horseback with bow and sword.Availability | Ultra Rare |
