Lore of Fire

The Lore of Fire draws upon the red wind of Aqshy, the wind of fire and passion. Those who excel in the Lore of Fire grow to mimic it, becoming impatient, fierce, passionate and temperamental.

Empire Wizards who study the Lore of Fire are known as Bright Wizards. The Bright College provides more Battle Wizards than any other College of Magic.

Cloak of Aqshy

You wreathe yourself in a cloak of flame, giving yourself a 3+Spell Dice bonus to Ward tests against Flaming attacks. Anyone who attacks you in melee automatically takes one (no matter how many attacks they made against you) Flaming hit with a Strength equal to 2+Spell Dice. The cloak lasts for 3 turns.

Crown of Flame

So long as this spell is memorised, a majestic crown of sweeping flame surrounds your head (which can be turned off/on at will in case the mundanes get worked up over it). This crown provides a +2 Ward save against Flaming attacks, and keeps you warm enough to counter all but magical cold. The crown provides illumination as per a torch, and grants you a +2 bonus to command or intimidate others. Finally, enemies in melee with you take a -1 penalty to Morale tests.

Tier 2

Consuming Wrath

Effect
You provoke an uncontrollable wrath in a single target, who may resist with a Willpower test. On a failure, they immediately frenzy and then attack the nearest creature, friend or foe. At the start of each turn after, they make a Willpower-1 test; if they succeed, they shake off the effects. If they fail, the effect continues, and they suffer 1 wound, no defense test allowed. The effect continues until they resist it or they are incapacitated.

Flaming Sword of Rhuin

A sword of magical flame bursts into being in an empty hand. It counts as a magical Superior sword with +1 Strength and the Flaming Quality. You may make one extra attack per turn, so long as that attack is with the Flaming Sword. It lasts for a number of turns equal to Spell Dice spent.

Aqshy's Aegis

You become immune to normal fire damage. Magical fire can still hurt you, but you gain a Ward Save against it equal to 4+Spell Dice. This bonus is shared with allies holding your hand, and then anyone holding their hands, and so on- anyone with an unbroken chain of held hands with you shares this bonus. The spell lasts for Spell Dice minutes.

Conflagration of Doom

This is a Vortex attack spell that acts as a Blast (3+Spell Dice) attack. Everything within the area of the spell is struck by Spell Dice number of Strength 4 Flaming hits, ignoring Armour. The spell travels up to 1d5m in a random direction at the start of each Ranged Phase, hitting anything within its final resting place. The spell remains in play until there are no living creatures within its blast area. Needless to say, this powerful spell alerts all Casters within 10km of its existence; The Bright College is typically unimpressed with frivolous uses of such dangerous magic.

Wall of Fire

You pick a point in range and generate a wall of flame starting at that point. This wall extends in any direction up to 5 metres per Spell Dice. This wall can bend, curve, etc. as you wish, and is 2m per Spell Dice high. Anyone shooting through the wall takes a -2 penalty due to the smoke, and anyone moving through or starting their turn on the wall suffers an instant Strength 5 Flaming hit.

Arcane Marks

Aura of Sympathy The very air around you becomes charged with a warmth that nurtures and fosters flame. You gain a degree of control over the fires around you, but just as often these fires suddenly burst out of your control. You no longer need to memorise the Crown of Flame and Kindleflame spells. You gain an Aspect named 'Sympathetic to the Flames', which is used just like other Aspects. However, Compels for this Aspect involve fires around you (or fires you control) suddenly exploding, spreading or becoming feral. Kindleflame, Crown of Flame 1 XP
Face of the Fire Your physical form changes to become more like fire- your skin might redden, your hair might go bright orange or red, or your eyes themselves might burn with an everlasting flame. Apart from the cosmetic change, this grants you a +1 Ward Save against Flaming attacks, and you are immune to being damaged by your own spells. However, you take a -2 penalty to stealth tests for obvious reasons. Flaming Sword of Rhuin, Hearts of Fire 1 XP
Mark of Aqshy You manifest the rune of the wind Aqshy on your body, giving you a +1 bonus to casting Lore of Fire spells. Any Tier 3 Lore of Fire spell 2 XP
